We like privacy. You like privacy. You have a right to privacy.
Basically, we collect only as much data as we need and we never share it with anyone. Read on for more details...
What we collect
We collect as little data as possible, only what we need to operate this service.
- The name and ID of your workspace in order to identify your organization by its name and redirect you back to your workspace once Hot Links is installed.
- The names and IDs of public channels in which you've posted links in order to let you know what channel the links were posted in and post link digests to them.
- The IDs (not usernames!) of users that post links in order to attribute links to them.
- The links you share, their metadata, and your notes on them... because that's what this is all for.
Where it's stored
All data is stored in Heroku PostgreSQL, running on Amazon AWS. We retain a limited number of database backups. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using secure connections.
We use Sentry for error monitoring. In the event of an application crash, some user data related to that crash may be logged in Sentry.
Who we share data with
In the future, we may build features that allow people in your organization to see historical or aggregate reports of the links shared in your workspace. We'll never share your information with anyone outside of your organization.
